Document Requirements

Everything you need to know about verifying your .bd domain. BTCL requires mandatory identity verification for all registrations.

Important: 3-Day Deadline

All required documents must be submitted within 3 days of registration. If documents are not submitted in time, your domain will be automatically suspended per BTCL policy.

Individual / Personal

For personal websites, blogs, portfolios, or personal identity.

Eligible Extensions:

.bd (Generic) .id.bd .বাংলা

Required Documents:

  • National ID (NID) (Scanned copy of both sides) OR Valid Passport.

Business / Company

For commercial entities, brands, startups, and registered companies.

Eligible Extensions:

.com.bd .net.bd .bd

Required Documents:

  • Trade License (Valid copy) OR Certificate of Incorporation.
  • Authorization Letter: If the applicant (registrant) is not the owner mentioned in the Trade License, an authorization letter on company letterhead is required.

Organization / NGO

For non-profits, NGOs, clubs, and societies.

Eligible Extensions:

.org.bd

Required Documents:

  • NGO Bureau Registration (Valid copy) OR Social Welfare Registration.
  • Authorization Letter: On official letterhead.

Educational Institution

For schools, colleges, universities, and training institutes.

Eligible Extensions:

.edu.bd .ac.bd .sch.bd

Required Documents:

  • Establishment Approval (EIIN / UGC Approval).
  • Head of Institute Letter: Authorization letter signed by Principal/VC.
